The A28B was a Swedish jet fighter. The A 28B is an export version of a British De Havilland Vampire fighter bomber jet. The A 28B was based on the later Vampire FB 5 and procured in 1949 as J 28B with the final aircraft delivered in 1952 marking the end of piston powered fighter aircraft in Flygvapnet inventory. The Vampires were retired from their role of a fighters in 1956 and replaced by J 29 and J 34. The J 28B were later delegated into attacker role and redesignated A 28B.
The A 28B was introduced in Update 1.95 "Northern Wind".The Vampire family is known for its great dogfighting capabilities, meaning the A28B can comfortably fend off several opponents at once if controlled by a skillful pilot. This aerial performance is given at the cost of engine power. The acceleration of the A 28B is very weak so superprops won´t have hard time catching up to a slow Vampire that bled its speed in a dogfight.
