The CTWV RCV is a Mitsubishi-developed reconnaissance variant of the CTWV, based on the Type 16 MCV platform. It features a 30 mm Bushmaster, a Mk 52 chain gun, a surveillance camera, and a satellite communication antenna. Tested in 2023-2024, it is set to be designated the Type 25 RCV and procured starting in FY 2025 to modernize the JGSDF's reconnaissance capabilities.
It was introduced in Update 2.39 "Dance of Dragons" and provides similar offensive reconnaissance capabilities to other vehicles equipped with the 30 mm Bushmaster, such as the VBCI-2. A unique feature of the Type 25 RCV(P) is its extendable commander antenna, which can raise by ~2 meters (with a real-life maximum of 10 meters), allowing the vehicle to spot targets or even override the gun while staying covered and protected.
