Working with Camouflage Nets

Starting from the Dance of Dragons update, tanks with camouflage nets are being switched to a new shader for texturing camouflage nets. In the Dance of Dragons update, the Vextra 105 and T-80U-E1 switched to the new system, and starting from the Firebirds update, all new vehicles with camouflage nets will be added with the new texturing system.

User-made sighting reticles

Since update 1.73 "Vive la France" the default sighting reticle for ground vehicles in War Thunder can be replaced with a custom one, for example if you want to recreate a historical representation of the sight. Custom sights will be created by changing settings in the reticle file rather than in any graphic editor.

Matchmaking

War Thunder’s matchmaking system is generally simple, but comes with some key caveats depending on the game mode; these are vital to understand to make the most of your vehicles and lineups. Learn more about rules around which vehicles you will be able to field and face in battle in this article.

Custom skins

If you are bored with the look of your favorite vehicles and the available in-game camouflages are not quite right for your vehicle - a custom camouflage can be a good solution to creating a unique look for your vehicle.

Guest Account

Guest account is a feature that allows you to get acquainted with the game quickly and easily, without the need to register a Gaijin.Net account.

Custom hangars

With the introduction of update 1.59 "Flaming Arrows", players are able to change the hangar for a custom one.

Localization Guidelines

Localization texts sometimes contain special characters, tags, and other technical elements. Most of them are well known to professional translators and coders, or intuitive, but there is something you need to know – we use the original plurals syntax, see below.

History of updating 3D models and textures of units

The War Thunder developers periodically refine and update 3D models of vehicles in the game. Custom camouflages for such vehicles may need to be corrected in order to correctly display the custom camouflages created prior to the model update.

Custom holidays calendar

You have probably already seen fireworks that War Thunder celebrates important dates with, such as New Year or Victory Day. Now users can define when fireworks will be displayed for them in War Thunder! Create your calendar — add, for example, your birthday or the anniversary of your wedding. And then on these important dates War Thunder will greet you with a display of fireworks that will begin at 20:00 (player local time) until 06:00 the following day.
